MMCC

The Maltese Moroccan Cooperation Council (MMCC) was created in 2021 to further enhance and facilitate the strong relations that already exist between Malta and Morocco. The Council was established following the initiative taken by the Consul General of the Republic of Malta in Morocco Mr Jerome Spiteri, and the subsequentt support and approval given by the Maltese Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

MMCC was officially inaugurated on the 23rd of February 2022, during the opening ceremony of the Maltese Consulate General Office of The Republic of Malta in Casablanca, in the presence of the Maltese Minister of Foreign and European Affairs at the time, the Hon. Evarist Bartolo and the Moroccan Minister for Industry and Commerce the Hon, Ryad Mezzour and other distinguished guests who were invited for the occasion.

Both the Hon. Bartolo and the Hon. Mezzour congratulated MMCC and augured that it would be successful in achieving its objectives, whilst also pointing out that success would only be possible through the dedicated commitment and hard work of the Council. The Council members who were present promised to rise to the challenges ahead, with vigour and enthusiasm. The council presented both Ministers with a token comprising MMCC’s logo in recognition of their trust in MMCC’s success.

MMCC aims to achieve its objectives by encouraging cooperation between both countries through four sectors, namely Commerce, Education, Culture and Themes of mutual interest as may be proposed from time to time. It is intended that these sectors of cooperation will translate into equitable and mutual benefits for its members, as well as for Malta and Morocco in general.
